We have a vision for the site -

An artist-run, independent online music journal featuring underground and indie music that is freely downloadable, sharable, …

The modern artist appreciates the power of Internet sharing technology. While entrenched Big Music Industry Inc. squabbles over getting paid and how indie artists will end up innovatively licensing their music - or at least part of their catalog - and overtake the huge music conglomerate by providing what the public wants… free music…

In return the indie artist will get support from the power of mass media. This will invite huge amounts of competition from the music creators, which is always good for any market! It will invite innovative music that is audience-driven. Popular stuff will get paid by audience support, and patronage of other merchandise.

Just a subtle shift in paradigm as this could flip the industry topsy-turvy. And with media so affordable to the masses - a group of cooperatively linked bands and artists would share the power of a huge record label without any of the detracting features associated with huge pyramid structures that currently rule the music world.

My company and my own professional career have both been dedicated to distilling the skills to contribute to innovation in these areas. I dedicate my skill to growing neolithicRazor.com into a viable outlet such as is described above - to assist all levels of these “markets” (I hate that word!) in meeting in the middle somewhere… the artist, band, or creative finds audience - including other media, end-listeners, music lovers of all walks of life to discover bleeding-edge indie and underground music that has a certain realness, related back to destroying the whole rock-star mythos perpetrated on the music listening public today by the big music industry.

We even aspire to delve into new media as a media outlet ourselves, crossing business models into new paradigm thinking that does away with the innefficiencies of big companies in general. I have a personal vision to start an Internet Radio station, and delving into delviering media over the Internet in the coming years, and let artists support this as a sort of indie cooperative that leverages the power of these new, affordable media to steal audience from the big, fat record companies - all more directly tied toward artists creative innovations themselves - new, unknown music that is innovately licensed to invite capturing large market share…

Please, e-mail me to get involved.

There are so many ways to be a part of neolithicRazor and enjoy the benefits. (Read )

You can start by wandering around and checking out some of the free music. This is what this is really all about, getting this unknown music out there and into the hands of music-lovers who might appreciate a little music while innovating by going around ”Big Music Industry, Inc.” whole robbery of the music-listening public. We are all about dicovering music.

Next, media, all the songs featured here offer at least some form of free licensing, so no one will ever have to worry about sharing these songs! Innovative licensing of all music featured here allows for worry-free play and sharing without fear of litigation by ”Big Music Industry, Inc.” Bands realize the value of being played and shared for reaching more audience who might appreciate their music. So we open a song or two to encourage sharing and radio play! You get worry-free, royalty-free music. Bands get exposure. ”Big Music Industry, Inc.” becomes obsolete.

Artists - this is a unique opportunity to leverage cooperative promotional power by banding together to operate neolithicRazor as a journal, do co-promitons in the form of compilation CDs, market to college and Internet radio, and gain more exposure by going straight at the audience we aspire to reach, cutting out ”Big Music Industry, Inc.”.

The Cleepies. We make music for people who:
1. Have a sense of humor
2. Are tired of Top40® commercial music relentlessly being squeezed out for human consumption.
3. Have a sense of adventure
4. Don’t need their music sub-divided into a genre (cause The Cleepies music doesn’t fit in any of them!)
5. Would like to hear what a harp made from a toliet seat sounds like.
6. (put your bit of nonsense here)

I am the Cleepie. I am the one behind the whole thing. Occasionally other musicians/noise makers will join me in producing a song or soundscape or stoopidness, such as one of the legion who run this website (he wishes to remain nameless, I see him peeking his head over his cubical, peering past the vast unwashed humanity typing and listening to the Backstreep boys and Blink 911 via internet radio, afraid they will know … that they will find out)
I make music for the enjoyment of me and my friends and anyone else that appreciates it. I write the songs the whole world screams. I don’t know why I wrote that. I just thought it was funny. With The Cleepies, not everything we do can be considered a “song” per se. They are more or less (silence) + <blink> (group of sounds) </blink> + (silence) . There is no posturing or pretending that it is more than that. Some of the “songs” are terrible and should be shot on sight. Some are oddly pretty, except for the part in the middle where it sounds like a cat got squished by a dump truck loaded with jellied sewage.
Someday I might actually put some songs up so that you can make your own mind up what it means. Not that anyone will ever read this….
